But now as KL Rahul is back and cleared to play so he will lead the team in the absence of the regular skipper Rohit Sharma. Fans have come up with multiple reactions over social media. As all this happened almost at the last moment so few fans are counting it as an injustice with Shikhar Dhawan.

KL Rahul is not in action since the conclusion of this year's Indian T20 League

KL Rahul had sustained an injury of sports hernia for which he went to Germany for thorough treatment. It all happened with him just before the commencement of the five-match T20I series against South Africa back in the month of June. The 30-year-old is not in the action on the field since the conclusion of the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League.

A few days back when the Indian camp was preparing for the tour of the West Indies for the three-match ODI series and five-match T20I series, Rahul was also expected to be with the team there in the Caribbean. But just before the series, he tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and couldn’t clear the fitness test.

Then he had to miss the entire West Indies tour where Shikhar Dhawan led the team in the three-match ODI series against the men in maroon.

Recently, the board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) posted a tweet with a picture of KL Rahul and officially informed the fans about the clearance of his fitness test. Fans have different opinions on replacing Dhawan as captain just a week before the start of the series.
