The star Indian cricket opener Shikhar Dhawan wrote a heartfelt message for his son Zorawar on his birthday, expressing both his love for him and the sorrow of not having been in touch for the last three months. Dhawan also shared a screenshot from a previous video call with his son since he didn't have any recent pictures together.
The legendary India opening batter conveyed his heartfelt birthday wishes to his son despite facing a communication blockade imposed by his ex-wife, Aesha Mukerji. On the social media platform, Instagram, Dhawan penned down an emotional and heartwarming note describing his situation and his love for his son.
“It’s been a year since I saw you in person, and now, for almost three months, I’ve been blocked from everywhere so Posting the same picture to wish you, my boy, a very Happy Birthday. Even if I can’t connect with you directly, I connect with you through Telepathy. I am so proud of you, and I know you’re doing great and growing up nicely,” Dhawan captioned the post.
“Papa always misses you and loves you. He’s always positive, waiting with a smile for the time when we will meet again by the Grace of God. Be naughty but not destructive, be a giver, be humble, compassionate, patient, and strong. Despite not seeing you, I write you messages almost every day, asking about your well-being and daily life, sharing what I’m doing and what’s new in my life,” the caption further stated.

Shikhar Dhawan was offered divorced from Aesha Mukerji
Recently, Delhi's Patiala House Courts granted cricketer Shikhar Dhawan a divorce from his wife, Aesha Mukerji on the basis of allegations of mental cruelty. Judge Harish Kumar accepted Dhawan's claims as Mukerji chose not to contest them. The court acknowledged Dhawan's emotional distress from living separately from his son, granting visitation rights for both India and Australia, along with permitted video calls.
While not deciding on permanent custody, the court instructed Mukerji to facilitate the child's visits to India, including overnight stays during school vacations. Recognizing Dhawan's international cricket stature the court advised seeking government assistance for visitation or custody matters, especially concerning his son's counterpart in Australia.
