He also reportedly took one wicket and bowled his full 10-over quota. Along with him, another injured pacer, Prasidh Krishna also bowled 10 overs and took one wicket for 26 runs, including two maiden overs. Jasprit Bumrah last played for the Men in Blue in September 2022
On 21 July, the Indian Cricket Board shared an update where it was claimed that the medical team were happy with the progression of both bowlers and thus, they will be permitted to bowl in practice games that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) would organise. Speaking of Bumrah, he last played for Team India in September 2022. Due to that back injury, he missed both the Asia Cup and the 20-20 World Cup in 2022. After that, he missed the entire IPL 2023 for Mumbai Indians (MI) along with the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
Recently, the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah also shared an update on the bowler and claimed that he is most likely to get a place in the squad for the upcoming T20I series. Shah also said that Bumrah is in excellent physical condition and set for a comeback. Speaking of the series, three matches will be played between 18 to 23 August. Even, the star batter, KL Rahul might make a comeback as well in that series.
