Mohammed Rizwan’s magnificent century in the 1st T-20 against South Africa saw him draw applause from all corners of the world. Among the many who appreciated Rizwan for his scintillating performance was Pakistan’s veteran all rounder Mohammed Hafeez. Hafeez posted a tweet admiring Rizwan’s wonderful knock and taking a slight dig at the former Pakistan captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Hafeez tweet read” Congratulation@iMRizwanPak on scoring T20 100. U r a Star shining star. Wonder how long u need to prove that u r No 1 wicketkeeper/batsman in Pakistan in all formats of the game. Just asking”
The tweet didn’t go down well with Sarfaraz Ahmed who replied by saying that whoever is playing for Pakistan is the number one wicket keeper at the time, citing examples of Imtiaz Ahmed, Wasim Bari, Moin Khan, Rashid Latif, Kamran Akmal and Mhammed Rizwan
“Hafeez bhai Sb, whoever has played for Pakistan from Imtiaz Ahmed, Wasim Bari, Tasleem Arif to Saleem Yousuf and from Moin Khan, Rashid Latif to Kamran Akmal and even Rizwan right now has always been number ONE for the country and have been respected accordingly,” replied Sarfaraz.
Adding fuel to the fire, Mohammed Amir jumped into the banter and extended his support to Sarfaraz Ahmed. Amir tweeted that under Sarafaraz, Pakistan was the no 1 T-20 team for two years. He even lead Pakistan to a victory in the Champions Trophy.
"babu u also a number 1 wicketkeeper batsman in Pakistan or ap ki hi captain the jab team 2 saal team no 1 rhi in t20 or sab se bar kar champions trophy so u are pride of Pakistan big respect or maze ki bat logon kam hai awein ka bolna so enjoy bro
The tweet meant “ You’re the number one wicket keeper in our country. Pakistan was the no 1 T-20 team for two years under your leadership, you lead Pakistan to a Champions Trophy win. You are the pride of Pakistan. You should ignore what people say as you are and always will be the no 1 wicket keeper for Pakistan.
Hafeez has now given a strong response to the duo and tweeted “ “Shallow minded approach EXPOSED!,” Hafeez tweeted.” Though he hasn’t directly mentioned Sarfaraz and Mohammed Amir, it’s clearly evident that he wasn’t impressed by the outburst by the duo.
