On 1 May 2023, fans witnessed an ugly verbal spat as things heated up at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. RCB defeated LSG by 18 runs in the ongoing IPL. But, it all started between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq. However, it continued after the game, and LSG mentor, Gautam Gambhir got involved.

As a result, the Indian Cricket Board fined Kohli and Gambhir 100% of their match fee while Naveen got fined 50% of their match fee. Seeing such an incident, the former Team India spinner, Harbhajan Singh came up with his views on his official YouTube channel and fans have reacted to it on social media.

While talking about the whole incident, Harbhajan Singh said: “I Am Ashamed Of What I Did With Sreesanth In 2008. Virat Kohli Is A Legend, Should Not Get Involved In Such Things. Whatever Happened Between Virat And Gambhir Was Not Right For Cricket”. However, it was not the first time that such controversial incidents had taken place in IPL. Even, Harbhajan Singh himself had been involved in such controversies during his playing days in this rich vein league and in the international arena. In IPL 2008, Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali, and as a result, he got banned for the rest of the season.
In IPL 2016, Harbhajan was playing for Mumbai Indians, and in a match against Rising Pune Supergiant, he was not happy with his teammate, Ambati Rayudu’s fielding effort. Hence, He lashed on Rayudu but Rayudu also shrugged him off and walked away. While playing for Team India in 2008, during the Australia Test series, Harbhajan and Andrew Symonds had a verbal altercation in Sydney. Symonds accused him of using a racial slur against him. As a result, later, the former Team India spinner faced a ban. So, having such comments from a player who personally had been involved in so many controversies, was quite surprising for fans and they slammed him brutally.
