For the mega auction of the 2022 edition, Rajasthan have a whopping amount of 62 crores in their purse. Thus, Samson recently went on to speak about the auction plans of the franchise.

As a matter of fact, he even gave a few hints about the kind of players the Rajasthan team management will be targeting. The keeper-batter stated that they are well aware of the importance of this edition's auction. Samson said that Rajasthan are looking to build a team for the future.

“This auction is really important because we know we could very well be preparing our base for the next 5-6 years. So, we’ve made sure to track everyone and give the opportunity to as many players as possible during the trials. Our goal is to now target the ones we think align with our vision, can embrace our values, and help our team get back to the top,” said Sanju Samson during a press release.

Some of the Indian players who won't be able to play the Indian T20 league for more than 5-6 years are Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa and S.Sreesanth. In the meanwhile, Kumar Sangakkara drew light on their planning process for the upcoming mega auction.

“Our analytical assessments are detailed, right from the information we’ve collected on players to getting them integrated into a central database. We further filter the data, backed with a robust analytic process which enables us to arrive at the right metrics further refining our overall player identification process. It’s really quite a comprehensive process,” said Kumar Sangakkara.
