The Lucknow franchise will be in action in the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League. However. Gautam Gambhir will be seen as the mentor of the side. Last time, they finished third in the table after winning nine out of 17 matches. However, all eyes were on 7 March 2023 as they launched their new jersey for the next edition.

Reports were already there that the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah was going to unveil the jersey. The event took place and Jay Shah, Sanjeev Goenka, Rahul, and Gambhir unveiled the franchise’s new jersey together. Now, Gambhir shared the image of that event with a caption: “Colour changed, attitude same! #abapnibaarihai @LucknowIPL”.

Seeing that tweet, fans came up and trolled the former India batter on social media. First of all, they were not happy with colour and design of the jersey. Then, they said that the franchise need to change its attitude rather than the jersey. Gambhir also heaped high praises for KL Rahul at the event. He said that the franchise are lucky to have a leader like Rahul.

Gautam Gambhir said: "We are very fortunate to have someone like KL Rahul, who has a very stable and balanced head. I wish I had it; I did not have that. I was very extreme, but it did work for me. For a franchise like Lucknow, it is important to have someone like KL at the helm. Going forward, this is going to be a massive positive for us.”

"It starts with the captain. The captain is the flag bearer of the team. It is the captain's team. All of us in the dressing room are there to support him. No support staff is under as much pressure as the captain. It is the body language of the captain that will decide how we perform," Gambhir further added. Rahul scored more than 600 runs in the last season and was instrumental in his team’s dream run in their debut season.
