Salman Butt goes blunt while comparing Rohit Sharma's fitness to Virat Kohli

Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt has come up with a big statement while comparing the current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to the former skipper Virat Kohli. Butt questioned the fitness level of Rohit Sharma to that of Kohli. While comparing, the Pakistani veteran went a bit harsh with his words to describe the reason for his comparison.

Recently, both India and Pakistan have participated in the just-concluded edition of the Asia Cup. The Pakistani side made it to the finals of the tournament whereas the men in blue got knocked out of the tournament after losing two consecutive matches of the super-4 round of the tournament against Pakistan and then Sri Lanka.

Now, coming back to Butt’s statement on Rohit Sharma’s fitness in comparison to the 33-year-old Indian veteran.

“Unka (Rohit) comparison nahi banta (with Babar and Rizwan). With his set of skills, Rohit ki fitness Kohli se aadhi bhi ho, toh usse zyada destructive player Nahi hai. Fir uska aur sirf AB de Villiers ka match reh jaata hai, beech mein koi player nahi aata. Agar woh (Rohit) bahut fit hote Kohli ki tarah toh pata nahi wo kya karte. (Rohit can't be compared with Babar and Rizwan. With his set of skills, Rohit would be the most destructive player if his fitness levels were half as good as Kohli's. Then his only match would have been AB de Villiers)” said Butt in a video on his YouTube channel.

Although, this is not the first time when Rohit Sharma’s fitness is under scrutiny. He is on the receiving end of criticism for the same for the last couple of years. But this has never been a barrier for him while performing with the bat in crucial situations for team India.

Talking about Virat Kohli, then he has ended up as the second highest run-scorer of the Asia Cup 2022 just five runs behind the star Pakistani batter Mohammad Rizwan.
