Speaking of the South African team’s campaign in the 2022 edition of the 20-20 World Cup, they lost and won two out of their matches against India and Sri Lanka. Whereas they unexpectedly lost to Pakistan and Netherlands which eventually led them to elimination from the tournament from the super-12 stage only.
Apart from the wins and losses, the Proteas also got their one game washed out against Zimbabwe in which they were almost heading toward the win.
The conclusion of the super-12 matches has finally decided the semi-finalists of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma-led Indian team will face England in the second semi-final at Adelaide while Pakistan will lock horns with the table toppers of Group 1, New Zealand.
It has been the second consecutive entry in the semi-finals for Pakistan as they were also a part of the top-4 teams in last year’s 20-20 World Cup.
