Sachin Tendulkar and Cristiano Ronaldo were among the prominent cricketing icons who extended their greetings to fans and followers on Christmas. The festival is one of the most celebrated events across the globe. Christmas is also an occasion for families and friends to meet and enjoy a day filled with happiness and joy. The sporting fraternity took to their respective social media handles to extend their greeting on Christmas.

Legendary India cricketer Tendulkar can be seen celebrating the festival of joy and happiness with kids. In the picture posted on his Twitter, the former opening batter can be seen sporting the Santa Claus outfit. He also has a bat in hand and seemed happy and relaxed with the kids. "Different years, same feeling! Merry Christmas everyone," legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar wrote on Twitter.

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also wished his fans and followers Christmas. He is currently recovering from a right forearm injury and is not part of the team’s tour of South Africa. "Wishing everyone comfort and joy, health and happiness. Merry Christmas to all the people celebrating across the world," India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja wrote on Twitter.

Former India opening batter Wasim Jaffer, who always comes with creative and witty posts, also wished his fans. In the picture posted by Jaffer, Santa Claus can be seen going in rain deer.

National Cricket Academy (NCA) director VVS Laxman also took to Twitter to extend his greetings. Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan also had a special message to his fans.Β  Portugal football players Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes were also seen wishing their fans.

Meanwhile, cricket fans across the globe can get to see two Test matches on Boxing Day, which falls on December 26. Australia takes on England in the ongoing third Ashes Test while South Africa take on India in the first Test in Centurion.
