Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clashed against each other in the 50th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, May 6. Batting first, RCB amassed a total of 181 runs with the help of a brilliant half-century by Mahipal Lomror.

Meanwhile, during the 2nd innings, in the 5th over, which was bowled by Mohammed Siraj, Phil Salt and the speedster got involved in a heated argument with each other. Before the matters spread, the umpires and RCB skipper Faf du Plessis get involved to diffuse the situation.ย

The incident took place when Siraj bowled a quick short ball outside off, Salt backed out of the pull and immediately looked at the square leg umpire for a wide. But he did not get the decision in his favour and then had a big smile on his face as he said something to Siraj, which did not please the bowler. David Warner came around and Siraj put a finger to his lips making a gesture to shush Salt.

Earlier, in the first innings, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Du Plessis provided a great start to the team as they stitched an 81-run stand for the first wicket. Both Kohli and Du Plessis were taking their time and kept ticking the scoreboard until DC's star allrounder Mitchell Marsh dismissed the latter on 45 runs, du Plessis' wicket was followed by Glenn Maxwell's dismissal in the same over as he registered a golden duck.

Kohli kept himself busy between the wickets and the young sensation Lomror took charge and started smashing from his first ball. On the other hand, Kohli smashed another half-century of the season but took 42 balls to make it. However, Lomror's power-hitting helped them to achieve a fighting total of 181 runs after losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.
