Indian women’s cricket team locked horns with the Australian team in the final at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. They were having good control in the game but the middle-order collapsed and cost them a gold medal for the first-ever commencement of cricket in the CWG 2022.
The women in blue were in good control of the match but they couldn’t hold nerves in the pressure situation and had to adjust to a silver medal. Everybody was heartbroken with this loss in the gold medal match in Birmingham Games.
While chasing the target, India required 44 in the last five overs with in-form skipper batter Harmanpreet Kaur who played a knock of 65 runs off 43 balls.
Fans criticized Azahruddin for his remarks on the Indian women's cricket team
Everybody praised the Indian team on Twitter for their brilliant effort in the entire tournament during the Commonwealth Games 2022. Former head coach of the men’s cricket team, Ravi Shastri congratulated the Indian girls for their instinct in CWG 2022.
When everyone was praising the Indian women’s cricket team, former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin went on to say something extremely different. He eventually ended up being on the receiving end of harsh criticism from the fans and Indian supporters who were feeling broken after the loss of India in such an important match.
“Rubbish batting by the Indian team. No common sense. Gave away a winning game on a platter,” reads the tweet posted by Azharuddin.

This expression and tweet from Azharuddin didn’t go well with the Indian fans and they lashed out at the former Indian skipper. Fans criticized him for being harsh more than required.
Along with lashing out at Azharuddin, the fans also lashed out at the board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) for not organizing women’s IPL where their potential can be tested to be ready for such kind of pressure situations.
Although, the Indian Cricket Board has announced recently organizing the women’s IPL next year. It depends on how much this announcement comes in real on the ground.
