While reacting to the question, Rohit took no time in coming up with a clear reply that they are currently looking ahead only at the task they have in front of them. The task is none other than the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. He further stated that they are also eyeing to start their campaign with a good performance against Pakistan.

My take is let's focus on this World Cup because it is important for us - Rohit Sharma

"My take is let's focus on this World Cup because it is important for us. We are not worried about what's going to happen later. There is no point thinking about it, the BCCI will make decisions on that. We are just thinking about being focused on tomorrow's game," said Rohit Sharma in the pre-match press conference ahead of their tournament opener against Pakistan.

Later on, Rohit also talked about the rain threats in the match against Pakistan. He went on to say that they also want as a player to have a complete game of 40 overs.

"In hindsight, if you look at it, toss becomes a little important when there is a rain threat. But again, I have been hearing about the Melbourne weather for a while now, it keeps changing. You do not know what is going to happen tomorrow, what is in our control, we will try to look after that. We need to come here thinking it will be a 40-over game, if the situation demands, if it is a shorter game, we will be ready for it. The players know how to manage themselves if the game is reduced, 10 overs each or 5 overs each. Luckily, we played a game in India where it was an 8-over game," he added later.
