The Indian Team is hard at work ahead of the Asia Cup 2023, which will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli passed their yo-yo test. Kohli also went ahead and made his score public, which was 17.2 as per his Instagram Story. When the score was made public, this was much to the ire of the Indian Cricket Board.

Pandya and Rohit have also passed their yo-yo tests. "The tests were successful and the reports will be sent to the Indian Cricket Board soon," a source following the developments told PTI. Notably, the current passing score for Indian crickets in the yo-yo test is 16.5. It should also be remembered that the yo-yo test score, like any other performance-based test, can keep changing on a day-to-day basis. A cricketer who gets 17 today can score 19 a week later or vice versa.

Shreyas Iyer has been given the go-ahead by the National Cricket Academy

KL Rahul did not undertake the yo-yo test as he was down with a niggle. For Rahul, the NCA staff gave the green signal about his batting. But the same could not be said about his wicket-keeping. It was reported earlier that Rahul could miss the start of the Asia Cup, Sanju Samson is travelling as cover for Rahul with the Indian side.

Shreyas Iyer was also given the all-clear but he is also being watched closely as he has come out of a back injury that has given him a lot of problems in the past. Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Tilak Varma and Samson will have to go through the test after they come back from the Ireland series.

The medical condition of all the cricketers will be also monitored along with their fitness. Several parameters like lipid profile, blood sugar (fasting and PP), uric acid, calcium, Vitamin B12 and D, creatinine, testosterone and Dexa tests etc. will be looked at during the six-day camp. After these tests, the team will undergo match simulations under the supervision of Vikram Rathore.
