Fans were in shock when Rinku Singh failed to get his maiden call-up to Team India, especially for the upcoming five-match T20I series in West Indies. But, on 14 July, the Indian Cricket Board announced the squad for the Asian Games 2023 and Rinku managed to get a place. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views.

Speaking of Rinku, he had an outstanding IPL 2023 while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He scored 474 runs, at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53 in 14 matches. Rinku surprised everyone by playing the finisher role perfectly most of the time throughout the season.

Rinku Singh had a disappointing Dullep Trophy for Central Zone

However, he had a disappointing outing in the recent matches in Duleep Trophy. For Central Zone, in four innings, he scored just 132 runs. Recently, he was also seen visiting the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan. Speaking of the tournament, it is all set to take place in Hangzhou, the People's Republic of China, from 23 September to 8 October 2023. Men’s cricket event is going to be played in the 20-20 format. However, all the matches will be played at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as the skipper of the side despite rumours of considering Shikhar Dhawan as the captain. The veteran batter even failed to get a place in the squad. The 2023 ODI World Cup is set to begin on 5 October in India. Hence, top players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not part of the squad. Gaikwad has been given the opportunity to lead a second-string team to glory.
