The qualifier 1 and the Eliminator match of the Indian T20 League 2022 are likely to be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, while the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad will stage the Qualifier 2 and the final of the tournament. BCCI, however, is yet to make an official confirmation with regards to the venues of the knockout matches. However, some sources have confirmed on the update to the Sports star.

For the unversed, the final of the Indian T20 League 2022 is scheduled to be played on 28th May 2022.The league stage games will be completed on 22nd May in Maharashtra. After that, the top four teams will head to Kolkata and Ahmedabad respectively.
“So far, the tournament has been going on smoothly and given the current scenario, the Board is confident of hosting the playoffs across two venues. Since, travelling will be restricted two just two cities, the bio-bubble can be maintained properly,” a source said.
Since Lucknow now also have a team in the Indian T20 League, they have sent a proposal to conduct one of the knockout matches in the tournament. However, as per the sources, the governing body in India isn’t likely to give the nod.
Amidst the rise in Covid-19 cases in some of the states, the BCCI is also expected to consult the local authorities regarding the crowd capacity in the knockout games.
Meanwhile, the Cricket Board in India is also set to finalize the dates and venues for the upcoming Women’s T20 Challenge. As per reports, the tournament is likely to be conducted in the third week of May. Previously, Pune was earmarked as the venue to conduct all the games of this season’s tournament. However, nothing has been confirmed as of now.
Talking about the Indian T20 League 2022, as many as 22 matches have been conducted so far. Rajasthan are sitting at the top of the table with 3 wins in 4 matches, followed by the likes of Kolkata, Lucknow, and Gujarat at second, third, and fourth position respectively.
Meanwhile, two of the most successful teams in the history of the competition, Mumbai and Chennai have currently occupied the bottom two spots on the table. Mumbai are, in fact, the only team that is yet to win a game this season.
