India is playing against arch-rivals Pakistan in the much-anticipated encounter of the Asia Cup 2022. Both teams are playing for the first time since the last encounter against each other in the T20 World Cup 2021. The men in green defeated the Indians by a massive margin of 10 wickets.

Speaking of the game, then the Indian skipper won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Skipper Babar Azam and star batter Mohammad Rizwan opened the inning for Pakistan. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave an early blow to the men in green by scalping the wicket of Babar Azam in the third over of the match. Then, Avesh Khan scalped the second wicket when Fakhar Zaman fell prey to him in the sixth over of the match when Pakistanโ€™s score was 42 runs.

Apart from the action of the match, fans are appreciating the gesture from Pakistani batter Fakhar Zaman after his dismissal. He walked off without waiting for the decision from the umpire. Fans delivered their respect for the batter considering his sportsman spirit.

India needs 148 runs in the 20 overs to win the match

Currently, Pakistan has scored 147 runs for the loss of all wickets in the 19.5 overs. Mohammad Rizwan has been the highest run-scorer for Pakistan in the innings. Other than him, Iftikhar Ahmed also scored crucial 28 runs. Apart from these two, number 11 batter Shahnawaz Dahani also showed some hands with the bat as he scored quick 16 runs off just six balls with two sixes to his name.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended up as the leading wicket-taker for the Indian side as he scalped four wickets in his quota of four overs by conceding just 26 runs with an economy rate of 6.50 runs per over. Other than him, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh scalped three and two wickets respectively for the team alongside one wicket taken by Avesh Khan.

India now needs 148 runs in 20 overs to win the match and clear off their account with the men in green for the last defeat during the T20 World Cup 2021.
