According to the reports, Mumbai is looking to sign medium pacer Dhawal Kulkarni for the remainder of the Indian T20 League 2022. Kulkarni has played for the franchise from 2008 to 2013, as well as in 2020 and 2021. During the mega auction earlier this year, he went unsold. In the ongoing tournament, he has been working as a commentator. Apart from Mumbai, the 33-year-old has played for Rajasthan as well as now-defunct Gujarat.
The Mumbai-born player has played 92 games and has picked 86 wickets averaging 28.76. He concedes runs at 8.3 per over in his Indian T20 league career. Meanwhile, he will be signed only if a player gets injured. It will be interesting to see if he gets picked by the team or not. The five-time winners are struggling in the ongoing 15th season. They have played six games and have lost all of them.
Mumbai Indians likely to rope in Dhawal Kulkarni for IPL 2022 if any of the player gets injured. (Reported by @abhishereporter).

The team has been found wanting in the bowling department. They have conceded runs at an economy rate of more than nine runs. Their pace bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has also struggled with the ball. After the three-wicket haul against Rajasthan, he has picked only one wicket in the season. The likes of Tymal Mills, Jaydev Unadkat, Murugan Ashwin and Daniel Sams have been smashed by the opposition batters in every game.
The Men in Blue and Gold now need to win every game in the tournament as they have equalled an unwanted record. In 2019, Bangalore had lost their first six games. This year, the Rohit Sharma-led side has levelled that record. Talking about the bowling options in the team, they can turn to the likes of Arshad Khan (left-arm medium pacer), Mayank Markande (leg-spinner), Riley Meredith (right-arm pacer), Sanjay Yadav (left-arm orthodox), and Arjun Tendulkar (left-arm medium fast).
The team will play their next game against Chennai on April 21 at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai. They will be looking to solve their bowling woes and register their first win of the season.
