It seems like everything is not going well between the Pakistan cricket Board and the former cricketers. Recently, a legal notice was issued by the board to former wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal for his remarks on the Board president Ramiz Raja and cricket governing authorities in Pakistan cricket.
In the aftermath of this entire drama, former Pakistan skipper and Akmal’s teammate, Salman Butt has taken a dig at the PCB in the latest video on his YouTube channel.
“Rehne de ye show? Kahi legal notice na aa jaaye (Should we stop the show? Else we might also get legal notice),” started Butt while sharing his thoughts on the entire episode that happened in Pakistan cricket.
Here's what Salman Butt said further
“Speaking about technical aspects, giving your opinion, and speaking based on your experience, especially those who have much more of it than policy-makers is fine. You cannot challenge opinions. You can convince people with your explanation, logic, and reasoning,” he added later.
Later on, the 38-year-old former batter also expressed his opinion about the freedom of expressing thoughts for ex-players and veterans of the game. He also suggested that former cricketers to be decent while commenting on or analyzing anything related to Pakistan cricket.
“There is one more thing here. If we are talking about something, it should not personally hit anyone. We should not cross the line with regard to someone’s personality, looks, and personal life. We have no right to do that. Nor does anyone else have a right to cross the line against us. If someone has done it, people should refrain from such things,” concluded the former skipper.
A PTI report has learned that the legal team of PCB has been instructed to take immediate action if any ex-player makes a defamatory or offensive comment which seems to be damaging to Pakistan cricket.
Recently, the Pakistan team made it to the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 where they lost to England by a margin of five wickets.
