Speaking at ‘Meet the Media Programme’ at Mumbai Press Club, Shastri made a bold prediction on the final four. While the former cricketer did not give up on India, Shastri predicted that Pakistan, England and Australia will be the rest of the three teams.

Reasonably, England has been in tremendous form of late. The team led by Jos Buttler defeated Pakistan in the seven-match T20I series 4-3. Post that, the team fled to Australia and silenced the home crowd with a series win in the ongoing three-match series. The two heavyweights will cross swords in the third game on October 14, Friday, with England leading the series 2-0.

The 60-year-old emphasized Suryakumar Yadav’s talent and said that he can make a difference alongside Hardik Pandya. Commenting on the Indian batting order, Shastri said that Number 4 and 5 can make a significant difference in crunch matches.

“With Surya (Yadav) at No.4, Hardik (Pandya) at No.5 and Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik at No.6 it makes a massive difference as it allows the top order to play the way they are playing,” Shastri said in the programme.

“I have been part of the system for the last six seven years, first as a coach and now I am watching from the outside, and I think this is as good a line-up as India has ever had in T20 cricket,” the former head coach said further.
