'Ranji ki kisi team mein bhej do' - Twitter trolls Virat Kohli as his poor form continues in second T20I against England

The former Indian skipper and the senior batter Virat Kohli is enduring a lean patch for the last couple of years and waiting for his 71st century since he scored his last one against West Indies in November 2019. Kohli also failed to deliver in the rescheduled fifth Test match against England. The right-hander could score only 11 and 20 respectively in both innings of the match.

Today, he got a chance to feature in the playing of India for the second T20I against England. He was not a part of the squad in the first T20I. The bad patch for Kohli continued in this match also as he couldn’t score runs against the hosts.

Cricket fans took to Twitter for trolling the right-hander for his poor form with the bat. Some of the went on to say that he should sit out of the T20I squad if he is not performing up to the mark.

The 33-year-old was included in the team by excluding the Rohtak-based explosive batter Deepak Hooda from the playing XI. The Delhi-based senior batter came to bat at number three after the dismissal of skipper Rohit Sharma. Kohli could score only 1 run off 3 balls and succumb to the debutant pacer Richard Gleeson.

A few days back, former legendary Indian captain Kapil Dev also said that “if a player of Ravichandran Ashwin’s caliber can sit outside T20 team then why can’t Kohli if he is not in good form with the bat.”

Speaking of the second T20I between India and England so far, then India posted a respectable total of 170 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Senior Ravindra Jadeja ended up as the highest run-scorer in the Indian inning. He made 46 runs off just 29 balls with five boundaries.

Other than Jadeja, skipper Rohit Sharma and another opener Rishabh Pant played the innings of 31 and 26 runs respectively. Chris Jordan and debutant Richard Gleeson picked the four and three wickets respectively.
