Lahore Qalandars' cracking win over Islamabad United has pushed them to the helm of the points table with four wins in five games. Having a game under their belt is a massive advantage to Qalandars going into the match against Peshawar Zalmi. In Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez, they have two classy willow wielders. Also, skipper Sohail Akhtar is looking in decent touch. Tim David, Ben Dunk and Rashid Khan added valuable runs down the order against Islamabad, displaying the depth in their batting. Shaheen Afridi, James Faulkner, Ahmed Daniyal, Haris Rauf and Rashid Khan complete a very strong team. All of the bowlers were exceptional against Islamabad. However playing back to back games will be a stiff challenge.
Like Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi too had a fantastic run in the first leg and won three of their five games. Peshawar features of some of the stalwarts of the format in Shoaib Malik, David Miller, and Wahab Riaz. These players are reputed names in international cricket and have consistently delivered for their team. In addition, they have Kamran Akmal and Haider Ali to boost the side. Fidel Edwards is a fantastic addition to the team and will form a lethal attack with Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Imran. Overall, there is nothing that separates the two teams and we should be in for a cracking game of cricket.
Pitch Report
The underlying nature of the wicket is slow thus spinners will not be easy to get away. The surface will get slower as the game progresses thus runs against the new ball will be crucial.
