Islamabad United will be brimming with confidence after a crushing win over Quetta Gladiators. The bowlers were right at the top of their game and managed to restrict a strong lineup to 133 before Colin Munro demolished the target in 10 overs. Mohammad Wasim Jr. is a great prospect for Islamabad United and adds a lot of depth to the bowling unit. Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali are both very experienced in this format of the game while Muhammad Musa is among the most talented bowlers in the country. It's a bowling lineup that can give the best teams a run for their money.
The challenge for Islamabad, however, will be to continue their good form with the bat. Colin Munro was exceptional in the last game but can he deliver such performances on a regular basis? Also, the batting looks too dependent on Colin Munro and Usman Khawaja. Other players like Hussain Talat, Rohail Nazir and Iftikhar Ahmed have been disappointing but will need to find out a way to score runs.
Lahore Qalandars have managed to win both their matches post the resumption of PSL. However, both their wins were not clinical. There have been few match-winning performances from Rashid Khan, James Faulkner and Ben Dunk but we have not seen a collective effort from the team yet. Lahore Qalandars arguably has the best bowling lineup in the competition. Only if the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Sohail Akhtar and Mohammad Hafeez can contribute with the bat, they will be a force to reckon with.
Pitch Report
The conditions are favourable for spin bowling. Also, bowlers like James Faulkner, who bowls a lot of cutters will be very handy. It's not the easiest wicket to bat due to the lack of pace but once set, the batsmen should be able to break free.
