Multan loses power and Islamabad its batting order –
In the 14th over the game was paused for a few minutes as one of the floodlights went off. The players made their way off the field but once the match resumed the Islamabad Team saw their innings come off the rails.
This is the embarrassment you have to face at such a high level when your stadium has not been renovated for a single team after being constructed. The same thing happened with Multan last year too, but what else can you expect from PCB?#PSL9 #HBLPSL9 #PSL2024#PSL pic.twitter.com/JaEgjKSak5

From 100 for 3 the visitors were bundled out for just 144 on the board. Abbas Afridi and Usama Mir combined well to break the back of the Islamabad batting unit. Mohammad Ali then came in handy as he struck the final blows with the ball.

Young Naseem Shah who has been out injured for nearly six months showed Pakistan what they have been missing,. The young pacer swung the ball at high pace and troubled every batter. Dawid Malan was beaten for pace as the stumps took a beating to give the visitors their first wicket.

Rizwan and Hendricks forge a key stand –
Skipper Mohammad Rizwan found a key ally in Reeza Hendricks as the pair added 71 runs for the 2nd wicket. With boundaries hard to come by early, the two rotated the strike well.
