Rassie Van Der Dussen scores yet another half-century

South African batter Rassie Van Der Dussen has been in form with the bat for Lahore so far. The right handed batter timed the ball well as he took the attack to the opposition. None of the bowlers seemed to have any clue as the veteran batter mixed vintage cricket shots with unorthodox cricket. Usama Mir got the big wicket when he had Van Der Dussen out for 54 runs.

Multan hold their nerves in the death overs –

Sikandar Raza scored 23 runs before he was dismissed by Mohammad Ali. Jahandad Khan who scored 45 off 17 balls last match was in his element yet again. Kushdil Shah dropped an easy catch to give the left-handed batter a life. This was followed by the youngster hitting a huge six to help his team post a decent total of 166 on the board.

Funny Moments during Lahore’s innings –

Multan fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani was seen speaking to the spider-camera and sounding ultra-confident. The lanky pacer though was carted for 24 runs from his 2 overs to leave the twitter users in splits. Another funny moment was when Carlos Brathwaite saw his bat broken after facing Dahani in the back end of the Lahore innings.

Zaman Khan and Shaheen Afridi give Lahore a good start –

Needing 167 to win, Multan lost Dawid Malan in the first ball of Zaman Khan’s over for a duck. Reeza Hendricks who has been one of the best batters so far was out caught by Afridi for 9. George Lind then struck when he had Yasir Khan stumped for 8 to leave Multan at 53/3.

Mohammad Rizwan scores amazing 82 to bring Multan back into the game –

Just as the pressure was building it was Multan skipper Mohammad Rizwan who got his team back. The right –handed batter scored 82 runs off 59 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes which included some amazing shots. Zaman Khan then got the wicket of Rizwan when he was caught by George Linde.

Iftikhar Ahmed’s blitz takes Multan home –

Needing 21 runs off the last 12 balls, Zaman Khan came to bowl the 19th over of the innings. Veteran batter Iftikhar Ahmed hit three fours and 2 sixes to seal the deal for Multan with an over to go.

Multan go top of the table –

With this win, Multan Sultans go top of the table with 6 points from 3 games. They also have an healthy run-rate of +1.165. Lahore are now in the 5th place having lost all their matches so far. Their run-rate stands at an abysmal -0.743. Shaheen and his side need to win all their games in a bid to keep their top four hopes alive.
