Recently, Prithvi Shaw missed out on the selection for the India tour of Ireland 2022 for the two-match T20I series. The selectors went with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has been inconsistent in the last few months with the bat. Currently, Prithvi Shaw is plying his trade in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, in which his team Mumbai has reached the final. They are playing against Madhya Pradesh in the summit clash/
Meanwhile, speaking about his comeback to the national team, he said that he is not thinking about it and concentrating on winning the Trophy.
“It’s nowhere near my mind you know – comeback to the Indian team,” Shaw was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
“Getting the Cup is my main motive and not thinking anything other than winning this one,” said Shaw.
The right-hander added that his team has prepared for the tournament and is not focused on everything happening outside of it.
"The preparation what we have done for the Ranji Trophy and not focusing on what’s happening on the outside. It’s about winning the Ranji Trophy and getting those happy moments back,” he added.
Speaking on his batting form, the 2018 U19 World Cup winning skipper said that he feels bad about not getting a big score. For the unversed, he has scored 311 runs in six game at an average of 34.55, including three fifties.
“I have scored a couple of fifties but that’s not enough for me for sure and no one even congratulated me after scoring a fifty and you feel bad as well,” joked the 22-year-old.
The 22-year-old further said that he is glad that the team is doing well despite him not being in the best of form.
“It happens sometimes but I am glad that my team is doing well. “In cricket and in life, the graph always goes up and down and it’s never going to always go up. So it’s just a matter of time that I middle those balls and get those big runs again,” he further said.
