India’s vice-captain and senior batter KL Rahul is enduring a poor run of form with the bat in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. He has failed to deliver up to the expectations of the team in two consecutive matches against Pakistan and the Netherlands respectively. Apart from that, he is also on the receiving end of hard criticism for not taking the DRS call during the match against the Netherlands when he was clearly not out but declared out by the umpire.
It was not only KL who was trolled by fans, but they also came very hard on the skipper Rohit Sharma as he was also present there at the moment in the middle and didn’t take the DRS even being a captain. Furthermore, talking about the match between India and Netherlands, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first on the turf of Sydney Cricket Ground. Batting first, the men in blue posted a handsome total of 179 runs for the loss of only two wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Skipper Rohit Sharma provided a strong foundation with his half-century knock of 53 runs off just 39 balls. Later on, the celebrated pair of former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and star Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav stitched an unbeaten partnership of 95 runs for the second wicket. They both played the knocks of 62 and 51 runs respectively.
While defending the target, Indian bowlers restricted the Dutch side to 123 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the 20 over. SKY was adjudged ‘player of the match for his brilliant match-defining performance.
