Star Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammed Rizwan is on the receiving end of harsh criticism from Pakistan cricket fans following his poor run of form with the bat. Appearing in all six innings of the recently concluded three-match Test series against England, Rizwan could score only 141 runs with a very poor average of 23.50.
Apart from that, the 30-year-old couldn’t score even a single half-century in all three Tests against England. This horrific run of the prolific batter has left fans in anger and they started criticizing the Peshawar batter for not living up to the expectations.
The fans took to Twitter for lashing out at Rizwan and subsequently urged the Pakistan team management to include former skipper and senior wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed in the team for the next Test assignments. They also asked Rizwan to go back to domestic cricket to polish his performance and then to make a comeback in the national team of Pakistan.
Here’s how fans reacted:

It must sum up Rizwan v Sarfaraz debate:

Rizwan last 12 test innings: 0 fifty
Sarfaraz last 12 test innings: 4 fifties
Sarfaraz last 12 FC innings: 1 century & 4 fifties
Terrible Situation of merit in Pakistan.
#ENGvPAK Rest Rizwan against New Zealand 🙏🙏. Give Sarfaraz chance in a two match Test series.

Dear Muhanmad Rizwan please go back to firstclass cricket. Play sesson or two there & if you score consistently then you will be picked again but right now you can not represent Pak in 3 formates by only performing in T20 formate.

100% sure Rizwan will cost Pakistan the 2023 World Cup. He cannot perform under pressure. And is terrible in the middle-order😒

PC : NO hate for rizwan but sarfaraz deserve a chance. 🙂 pic.twitter.com/EdPVrtQegn
Oh my lord how good is Ben Foakes behind the stumps! Rizwan again disappoints only to wonder if Sarfaraz should have been inducted here #PAKvsENG

Notably, Rizwan is the leading run-scorer in the T20Is during the ongoing calendar year of 2022. He is followed by the World's number one T20I batter and star Indian batting sensation Suryakumar who is on the second spot in the list.
Earlier, Mohammad Rizwan and his fellow teammate and skipper Babar Azam were under the scanner for their poor strike rate in limited-overs cricket.
Pakistan is set to lock horns with New Zealand in the upcoming two-match Test series starting on Monday, the 26th of December with the first Test in Karachi. So, it would be a headache for the team management to pick between Rizwan and Sarfaraz for the Test series against New Zealand.
