"Neutral venue for the Asia Cup is not unprecedented and we have decided that we will not travel to Pakistan," said Jay Shah.

Although, this stand of the Indian cricket Board didn’t go down well with some of the cricket fans and they did no ado in lashing out at the Indian cricket Board for such a hard and fast-lined stance. They also suggested that if India is going that hard then the Pakistan Cricket Board should also rethink the 2023 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in India. Some fans went on to the extent of saying that Pakistan should deny traveling to India for the ODI World Cup of 2023.

Notably, both teams haven’t played against each other in any bilateral series since 2012-13 when Pakistan visited India for a three-match T20I and three-match ODI series. Although, the two Asian Giants have faced each other in major international tournaments including ODI World Cups, Champions Trophy, and 20-20 World Cups.

Recently, Rohit’s men played against the Pakistani team in the Asia Cup 2022. Both teams played two matches including a group match and an encounter in the super-4 stage. India won the group match by a margin of five wickets whereas Babar & co. cleared off their books with the Indian team in the super-4 match when they defeated the latter by the same margin.

Now, the two teams are all set to lock horns with each other in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 on the 23rd of October in their tournament opener at MCG in Melbourne. Earlier, Pakistan outplayed the Indians by a massive margin of 10 wickets in last year’s 20-20 World Cup.
