Late on Sunday, the head of the management committee, Zaka Ashraf, disclosed Babar Azam's personal WhatsApp messages in a live television broadcast. The actions of the PCB chief have raised ethical concerns, as it remains uncertain whether Pakistan Captain Babar Azam granted consent for his private messages to be shared on live TV. The release of private messages could be perceived as a breach of privacy.

In an interview with a local news channel, the PCB chief refuted these allegations, saying that the Pakistan captain had never gotten in touch with him directly. “He [Latif] says that I don’t pick up his [Babar’s] call. He’s never given me a call. The chief operating officer or the director of international cricket are expected to speak with the captain of the team,” Zaka clarified.
