Team India are currently busy playing the three-match T20I series in Ireland. After that, they will be in action in the upcoming Asia Cup and that will be a great stage for them to get prepared for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup. Currently, Jasprit Bumrah is leading the side in Ireland as both Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya are not a part of the squad.

Rohit is the regular skipper for the Men in Blue across all three formats while Hardik is considered his deputy. In Rohit’s absence, Hardik has been found leading the side, especially in the shortest format of the game. Now, as per recent reports in the Times of India, Bumrah is in contention to be the new vice-captain of Team India alongside Pandya. After listening to such reports, fans shared their views on social media.

He will join Ajit Agarakar in the squad selection meeting. Another report also hinted that Sanju Samson might get dropped from the Asia Cup squad despite him being a part of the white-ball format squad in the recent West Indies and Ireland tours.
