The stage was set for Team India to win another T20I series under Hardik Pandya when they took on West Indies in the last match of the five-match series on 13 October 2023. The series was at stake after both teams won two matches each. But, it was the Windies who registered an 8-wicket win and bagged the series 3-2.
Thus, the Men in Blue lost a bilateral series for the first time against the Caribbeans since 2016. Seeing such a result, fans were not happy and started to slam Hardik Pandya and his men on social media. The former Team India pacer, Venkatesh Prasad also came up with a tweet to slam the team and regarding that, fans also reacted.
Here is the shared tweet:
India has been a very very ordinary limited overs side for sometime now. They have been humbled by a West Indies side that failed to qualify for the T20 WC few months back. We had also lost to Ban in the ODI series. Hope they introspect instead of making silly statements #IndvWI

Venkatesh Prasad did not hold back from raising his voice
Speaking of the tweet, Prasad wrote: “India has been a very very ordinary limited overs side for sometime now. They have been humbled by a West Indies side that failed to qualify for the T20 WC few months back. We had also lost to Ban in the ODI series. Hope they introspect instead of making silly statements #IndvWI.” West Indies failed to qualify for the 2022 20-20 World Cup and the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup. So, fans were not happy at all for getting lost against a team like this despite having players who have vast experience playing IPL.
However, it was not the first time when this former pacer raised his voice over the recent performances of Team India in both the white-ball formats. However, after the loss, skipper Hardik Pandya claimed that sometimes losing a match or series should be considered good as it would help them to learn. He said: “It's a long way. We have the ODI WC coming up. And sometimes losing is good. You get to learn a lot. And special mention for all the boys. They showed great character. Winning and losing is a part of the process and we are going to make sure we learn from that.”
Here is how fans have reacted to the viral tweet:
It's ok to be unique - Captain Hardik

Sir what's your views on Indian T20 Captain and Team management

We wrongly blamed Greg Chappel for 2007 WC, now we know who was the real culprit.

Actions speak louder than words. Words come into action when the action itself isn’t sufficient to answer questions!

Kohli is not any more captain and Ravi Sastry is not any more coach 😂
I was expecting a tweet from you on this... I believe they are taking it seriously 😑
