Pakistan’s opener, Fakhar Zaman recently made headlines for his hilarious comments with regards to Pakistan’s current economic situation. Speaking to the media during the ongoing Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) conditioning camp, the Pakistan cricketer jokingly said that he hopes that the rate of the dollar doesn’t break his 210-run record in Pakistan.

"I want the dollar not to break my 210 runs record," Fakhar responded humorously to a reporter’s question.

For the unversed, Fakhar Zaman holds the record for having the highest individual score for Pakistan in ODIs. Overall, he is the fifth on the list behind the likes of Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptill, Virender Sehwag, and Chris Gayle. Fakhar Zaman made the record in the year 2018 during Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe.

During the fourth ODI of the series, Fakhar Zaman opened the batting with Imam Ul Haq and the duo stitched a record 304-run opening partnership. Imam Ul-Haq got out after scoring 113 runs in 122 balls but Fakhar Zaman played an unbeaten knock of 210 runs in just 156 balls, a knock which was laced with 24 fours and 5 sixes. Pakistan won that game by 244 runs as they bundled out Zimbabwe for just 155 runs in the second innings.

Further, he also highlighted PCB’s chairman Ramiz Raja’s latest initiative of a significant increase in the monthly stipend of the retired cricketers. Zaman heaped praise on Ramiz Raza’s initiative, stating that it will only benefit Pakistan cricket.

"It is a good thing that Ramiz ensured an increase in the monthly stipends. He was very supportive in the meeting," he shared. "Increase in the salaries will benefit our cricket."

In his illustrious career so far, Ramiz Raza has played 56 ODIs, scoring 2427 runs at an average of 46.7. He has also represented Pakistan in 65 T20 internationals and has scored 1253 runs at 22.4. Besides, he has also appeared in 3 Tests, scoring 192 runs at 32.00.
