Sri Lanka and Pakistan are facing each other in the second of the three-match Test series at Galle International Cricket Stadium. The visitors are looking in a very dominating position in the last fixture of the Test series. Pakistani team is currently at the backfoot in the match as they are forced to chase a mammoth target of 508 runs.

Batting in the second innings, Pakistan has scored 89 runs for the loss of one wicket in form of young opener Abdullah Shafique. Captain Babar Azam is there in the middle alongside another opener Imam-ul-Haq at the end of day four’s play due to rain interruption.

Earlier, the hosts’ skipper decided to bat first after winning the toss. Sri Lanka managed to post a big total of 378 runs. An important 80-run knock from senior and in-form batter Dinesh Chandimal strengthened the hosts in the match. In reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings, Pakistan's inning ended at the score of only 231 runs.

Salman Ali Agha was the only batter who seemed to struggle against the bowling attack of Sri Lanka. He played a vital knock of 62 runs. Imam-ul-Haq ended up as the second leading run-scorer with 32 runs.

Starting the second innings with a big lead of 147 runs, Sri Lanka batters showcased an amazing display of batting. Dhananjay de Silva’s magnificent century-knock of 109 runs alongside skipper Dimuth Karunaratne’s 61-run-inning. Their partnership helped Sri Lanka to set a massive total of 508 runs for the visitors.

Speaking of the two-match Test series so far, then Pakistan is currently leading the series with a score line of 1-0. Babar Azam’s men clinched an emphatic victory in the opening fixture of the Test series against the hosts. Notably, this test series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan is a part of the World Test championship.
