Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the squad of Pakistan as they are all set to lock horns with their arch-rivals India in the first match of Group on 28th of August this month in Asia Cup 2022. Apart from this, they will also play against the sixth and qualified team in the group B match to fix a spot into the super 4 round of the tournament.
The six Asian teams that play will play in this continental tournament in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament will begin on the 27th of August to the 11th of September. Before Asia, the men in green will also tour the Netherlands for the three-match ODI series
The Asia Cup will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 27 August to 11 September, while the ODI series against the Netherlands will take place from August 16-21. So, the PCB has also announced a squad for the Netherlands tour as well.
Shaheen Afridi still remains a conundrum for the Pakistan camp
The selectors have included the young pacer Naseem Shah in both the squads whereas Hasan Ali will have to sit outside. On the other hand, they have also recalled Salman Ali Agha who was previously with the team on their tour of England in an ODI series back in the year 2021.
The selection committee has selected the star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi for both ODI and T20I squads. The team trainer and physiotherapist will look after his training and rehabilitation program. He will also take a decision if Afridi will be able to make a return to international cricket or not.
