Pakistan Cricket announced the international cricket schedule for the next 12 months for both Men’s and Women’s team on Friday. The Pakistan’s Men’s team are going to have some busy months coming up this year.
Babar Azam and Co. are scheduled to play as many as 25 T20 internationals, 17 ODIs and 7 Tests in the next 12 months. Talking about the longest format, the Pakistan Cricket Team will be playing two Tests against Sri Lanka, three Tests against England and 2 Tests against New Zealand. All the fixtures will be part of the ICC World Test Championship.
Coming to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches, Pakistan are scheduled to play three ODIs each against the likes of West Indies, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and New Zealand.
Given the fact that the ICC T20 World Cup and Asia Cup are both scheduled to be held this year, the Men in Green are going to be playing a lot of T20 internationals in the next 12 months. During the months of August and September, Pakistan will be taking part in the ACC Asia Cup, which will be played in T20 format.
Babar Azam and Co. will then be participating in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 from 15th October to 15th November 2022. Pakistan will play a minimum of five T20 internationals in that competition.
Besides, the Men in Green are slated to play seven T20 internationals against England, three T20Is against West Indies and five against New Zealand.
On the other hand, the Women’s team too have a host of matches to play in the next 12 months. They will feature in three ICC Women’s Championship series matches against Sri Lanka, Ireland (both home) and Australia (away). Besides, the women’s team will also take part in 19th Asian game in Guazgzhou, ACC Women’s T20 Cup, ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2023 and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa.
