Action has swiftly moved in the ongoing Oman D20 league after the cancellation of two matches on the opening day. Two matches were played on Monday (December 27). In the first game of the day between Busters and Royals, the latter managed to hold on to their nerves and finished the run chase of 165 with four balls to spare. The game managed to swing to and fro but the Royals managed to come out on top. Royals' lower-order batters, Twinkal Bhandari and Rafiullah M’s handy contributions of 34 and 18 respectively took Royals closer to the target.

Later, Mehran Khan’s few lusty blows sealed the deal for the team. Meanwhile, the Busters stayed in the game for the majority of the 40 overs. With the bat, they posted a challenging 164 on account of opener Abdul Rauf –I’s unbeaten 78. With the ball too, the Busters chipped in with regular wickets but failed to close out the game.

On the other hand, Ruwi Rangers beat Khuwair Warriors by 15 runs in the second game of the day. It was a low-scoring thriller, with the former posting just 123. Wasim Ali and Imran Ali-I both scored 25 each and gave bowlers something to bowl at.

Chasing a smallish target, the Warriors lost the plot as none of their batters, barring Zeeshan Siddiqui could get going.
Rangers bowlers, Jitenkumar Ramanandi’s and Hassnain Shah’s three-wicket hauls bundled out the Warriors for 108. The Warriors have slipped to fifth in the points table while Busters are placed seventh.
