Nurul Hasan laments Virat Kohli fielding-incident to be the reason of Bangladesh's defeat

The 35th match of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 between India and Bangladesh and India ended up as a nail-biting thriller where Indians eventually won the match by 5 runs to strengthen their chances for the knockouts. But it seems that few of the decisions didn’t go down well with Bangladesh who gave a tough fight to Rohit Sharma’s men in the fourth match of their World Cup Campaign.

In the same line of events, Bangladesh wicketkeeper batter Nurul Hasan has accused the former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli of ‘fake fielding’ which eventually happened to cost the Bangla tigers a defeat of five runs in a must-win encounter of the tournament.

Here's what Nurul Hasan Said

"Certainly, the field was wet and it had an impact and everyone saw that and eventually what I felt is that when we were talking there was a fake throw and it could have been a five-run penalty and that could have gone our way but unfortunately even that didn't come," said Nurul to reporters.

Notably, law 41.5 of the cricket rulebook states that “deliberate distraction, deception or obstruction of batter", and if an incident is deemed to be a breach, the umpire can declare that particular delivery as a dead ball and award the batting side five runs.”

Apart from this, there were also a few umpiring decisions that went under the scanner of the cricketing fraternity. A similar incident also happened on the last ball of the 16th over when Kohli missed a short-length delivery of Hasan Mahmud and immediately signaled a wide ball to Umpire which didn’t go down well with the opposition skipper Shakib Al Hasan.

Speaking of the match, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli played brilliant half-century knocks for India with individual scores of 50 and 64 runs respectively. Their knocks were followed by the quick cameo of 30 runs off 16 balls by Suryakumar Yadav.
