In a shocking decision, the Pakistan team management axed the vice-captain Shan Masood from the playing XI of the first of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Notably, both teams played this match at the National Stadium in Karachi. This decision from the management drew a lot of mixed reactions from a section of Pakistan cricket fans.
Meanwhile, just after this decision from Pakistan, it was a section of the Indian cricket fans took no time in hitting the men in blue’s vice-captain KL Rahul. Notably, the 30-year-old is enduring a lean patch with the bat in international cricket for a long time since the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

Talking about the first match between Pakistan and New Zealand, the hosts managed to cross the finishing line on a winning note by a margin of six wickets. Riding on the brilliant half-centuries from Fakhar Zaman, skipper Babar Azam, and star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, the men in green comfortably chased down the target of 256 runs in 48.1 overs.
Whereas on the other side of the border, the men in blue under the captaincy of regular skipper Rohit Sharma are set to take on Sri Lanka in the first of the three-match ODI series at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Earlier, the hosts won the three-match T20I series by a margin of 2-1 under the captaincy of stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya.
Although, the Indian team will get the services resumed from the regular skipper Rohit Sharma, former skipper Virat Kohli and other senior players during the 50-overs series against Sri Lanka.
