Micro-blogging site Twitter is a great platform for celebrities to share their views with their fans. Many times, people keep an eye on their favourite player’s Twitter handle to see what they’re up to in their lives. Sometimes, the social media platform can even turn into a war zone with two people having a go at each other. There have been many instances where two people end up in a heated argument on the social media platform and end up getting in the news.

Another such incident came to light when two players from the associate nations, Ali Khan and Sandip Lamichhane got involved in a heated verbal battle on Twitter.

It all began when the USA pacer Ali Khan, who was also a part of the Kolkata franchise for one season of the Indian t20 league, made a distasteful comment for the Nepalese people on Twitter.

Reacting to a tweet from a journalist, Ali Khan said “Nepali fans are the worst ever.”

Ali replied to a tweet from the journalist Peter Della Penna where he had posted a screenshot from his DM where some Nepalese cricket fans had alleged him to have hatred towards their country.

Penna clarified the baseless allegations from the fans and tweeted “Opening my DMs... I need to please set the record straight. There is no such thing as a filthy rich Associate cricket journalist. If I really had "a lot of money", the last thing I'd be doing is using it to buy players. I don't own any team, or any cricket board, or any players.”

Seeing Khan’s Tweet, Nepal Cricket Team’s captain Sandeep Lamichhane, who was also a part of the Indian T20 league playing for the Delhi Franchise, took matters into his own hands and gave a befitting reply to the USA player and for his hatred towards the people of his country.

“Never expected such a generalized and hateful comment from one of my cricket colleagues. The people of Nepal breathe cricket. It's in their blood. And they are a critical part of cricket world map. Sports should only bring people together & not divide them. #JaiNepal,” he tweeted.
