Rinku Singh’s hard work finally paid off when he got included in Team India’s squad for the recently concluded three-match T20I series in Ireland. After a fantastic IPL 2023 for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), fans were eagerly waiting to see him in action for Men in Blue. However, his debut came in the first game of that series.

But, he did not get an opportunity to bat. Then, in the second game, he got an opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. Rinku scored 38 runs off 21 balls, including two fours and three sixes. He also won the Player of the Match award. Now, an image has gone viral where Rinku was seen with his parents while his parents were wearing Team India’s jerseys. After seeing that image, fans shared their views on social media.

Rinku himself shared the image on social media and wrote: “Because of whom it all started. From where it all started.” Even, players like Ishan Kishan were seen with some adorable comments on that post. Speaking of his performance in that game, Rinku Singh stitched up a 55-run partnership for the fifth wicket in just 28 balls with Shivam Dube also for the fifth wicket. His inning was crucial as India posted 185 runs on the board for five wickets in 20 overs. 

After getting the Player of the Match award, Rinku said: “I was confident and trying to use the IPL experience. Was trying to take the game deep. Been playing cricket for ten years and getting rewarded for the hard work. Happy to get the Man-of-the-Match award in the first game I've batted in international cricket.” In IPL 2023, the star KKR batter scored 474 runs in 14 matches with a strike rate of 149.53, along with four fifties. Now, he will look to do well again for the Men in Blue in the upcoming Asian Games 2023.
