Just a few days back, former England skipper Naseer Hussain was on the receiving end of harsh criticism from the trolls on social media. It all happened after the former veteran made some critical remarks for India while he went on to praise the Pakistan team for the same thing.
Now, the 54-year-old has addressed the trolls on the same and also admitted that he fell prey to the hate on social media following his comments on team India’s apprehensive approach in the big matches of the marquee tournament in Australia.
“Twitter was going ballistic saying 'how you go on about India and not Pakistan'. It's a completely different thing. Pakistan doesn't have the batting depth we saw in the last few overs in the final. They don't have players like Suryakumar Yadav, or Hardik Pandya to come in and smash it,” said Hussain on Sky Sports.
Pakistan has the best bowling line-up - Naseer Hussain
Later on, Hussain also talked about the reason for not criticizing Pakistan for the slow batting they were best in the bowling department throughout the entire eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup.
“Also, Pakistan has the best bowling line-up. So, if they get par, even less than par, they are still in the game. If India gets par against England on a pitch like Adelaide, you are out of the game,” he added later.
Speaking about the outing of both the teams in the 20-20 World Cup 2022, it was completely a rollercoaster for Pakistan as they were on the verge of an early exit after losing the first two games against India and the lower-ranked team like Zimbabwe. But in a surprising turnaround of things, the Netherlands defeated South Africa in their last group match, and it made an easy way for Pakistan to reach the final of the eighth edition of the tournament.
Whereas, on the other hand, the Indians easily entered the semi-finals with four wins in five super-12 matches of the tournament. But England completely outmuscled the men in blue in the second semi-final of the tournament.
