On 21 July 2023, the semi-finals of the ongoing ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup took place in Colombo. Pakistan A locked horns with Sri Lanka A in the first semi-final while the second semi-final took place between India A and Bangladesh A in the second semi-final. All eyes were on India as they were coming to the clash unbeaten in the tournament.
Speaking of the match, Bangladesh A skipper, Saif Hassan won the toss and opted to bowl first. But, while batting first, India got bundled out for 211 runs in 49.1 overs. Skipper Yash Dhull was the lone warrior as he scored 66 runs off 85 balls, including six fours. For Bangladesh, Mahedi Hasan, Rakibul Hasan and Tanzim Hasan Sakib took two wickets each.

But, in reply, India’s bowlers were in top form as they bundled out the Bangla Tigers for just 160 runs in 34.2 overs. After a solid partnership of 70 runs for the opening wicket, they suffered a nasty batting collapse and fell short by 51 runs. For India, Nishant Sindhu took five wickets for 20 runs in eight overs. Along with him, Manav Suthar grabbed three wickets while both Abhishek Sharma and Yuvrajsinh Dodiya took one wicket each. Dhull won the Player of the Match award for scoring a fifty and grabbing two catches.
Pakistan A defeated Sri Lanka A by 60 runs in the other semi-final and now, India A will take on Pakistan A in the final on 23 July in Colombo. After the match, Dhull said that the wicket was difficult and that is why 211 runs were a good total for them to defend. He also claimed that they were looking to play out of their skin and to put in all their efforts. It all worked out well and heaped high praises for Nishant Sindhu. Dhull called him the go-to bowler of the team as he has always come up with some top performances for the need of the team.
