The moving day of the second WI vs IND Test at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad had to be shortened due to rain interruptions. Only 67 overs were bowled as West Indies closed out Day 3 at 229/5 from their overnight score of 86/1. Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite missed out on his century as he departed for 75 off 235 balls, including five fours and a six. Kirk McKenzie (32 off 57) was the first wicket to fall on the day as Mukesh Kumar started proceedings on Day 3 for India.
Jermaine Blackwood (20 off 92) hit two boundaries during his stay at the crease but departed cheaply. The same was the case with the wicketkeeper batter Joshua Da Silva who could only manage 10 off 26. Alick Athanze, the highest-scorer for the Windies in the first Test at Dominica, is still out in the middle for the hosts batting at 37* off 111 balls, including three fours. Accompanying him is Jason Holder at 11* off 39, including one boundary.
West Indies trail India by 209 runs at Stumps, Day 3
Talking of India’s bowling, Ravindra Jadeja leads the way with two wickets having registered figures of 2/37 in 25 overs so far. Jaydev Unadkat is yet to find a breakthrough as Ravichandran Ashwin, Mukesh Kumar, and Mohammed Siraj have all scalped one wicket each. Earlier, guided by Virat Kohli’s 29th Test ton on his 500th international game, India had posted a mammoth total of 438 runs. Skipper Rohit Sharma (80 off 143), Yashasvi Jaiswal (57 off 74), Ravindra Jadeja (61 off 152) and Ravichandran Ashwin (56 off 78) contributed handily.
In reply West Indies have reached 229/5 at the end of Day 3, trailing the visitors by another 209 runs. Even though Day 3 was shortened by rain, India appear to be ahead in the game. With two day’s play remaining the visitors will look to get the first innings of West Indies wrapped up soon. Although a bit far-fetched, a win for them could be on the cards as a draw seems the likeliest.

2 runs an over. Zero atmosphere. Windies lack real talent. What a farce.
