Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are playing their 6th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, April 20. KKR have won two matches while DC are yet to open their account but KKR had to work hard to earn those four points as we all remember how Rinku Singh pulled off a miracle against Gujarat Titans.
Meanwhile, DC had a wonderful start against KKR in this match as they were able to get rid of the visitor’s top order. But the massive blow was given to the two-time champions when DC speedster Anrich Nortje removed the previous match centurion Venkatesh Iyer on a two-ball duck.
The left-hander tried to carve it away but found a thick outside edge instead and it flew towards the fielder at slip. Mitchell Marsh makes no mistake and the in-form KKR batter was sent back to the pavilion early.
'We'll look to win it somehow': Venkatesh Iyer
Meanwhile, ahead of the match, Venkatesh said that he is pretty confident to play against DC as he is satisfied with his batting, so far, this season. He also mentioned that the team have to bring their A-game and will look to get their third win of the season.
“Pretty confident heading into this game, not because of the hundred but for the way I have been approaching the game, which is more important in terms of my batting. I am extremely satisfied with that. The most important thing is that everyone (in the team) understands their role very clearly. The communication is very good, and there have been instances where there've been collapses, but still we have managed to put up a very good score on the board.
“That speaks a lot of our batting depth, will look to carry that forward. We will have to bring our A game, we have played good cricket, but we have missed out on a few important aspects of the game, a few overs here and there. It's a crucial game, and we'll look to win it somehow.” Iyer said.
