However, after the match, CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that a large number of KKR fans wore the yellow jersey as they are trying to bid him farewell.
Even before the start of IPL 2023, many veterans believed that this would be Dhoni's last IPL. Although now Dhoni himself has also accepted that this will probably be his last season. Dhoni said after the match of KKR that the spectators of Kolkata are trying to give him Farewell and thanked them for this.
“I will just say thanks for the support, they came in big numbers. Most of these guys will come in a KKR jersey next time. They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd,” he said.
Dhoni has previously made references to his impending departure from the IPL. He made the shocking admission that he is "in the last phase of his career" in the match against SRH after winning.

"Fast bowlers are doing their job, so are spinners in the middle. The wicket was short on one side so we needed to get early wickets and keep the pressure.
