An Indian T20 League promotional video, featuring MS Dhoni, has been subjected to a controversy, and the Advertising Standards Council of India has asked the Indian T20 League to withdraw the advertisement. As per a report in TOI, a road safety organization has lodged a complaint with regards to the advertisement. As per the complaint, the promo is glorifying violation of traffic rules.
In the video, MS Dhoni can be seen driving a bus. While driving, he suddenly stops the bus to leave the passengers in discomfort. Seconds later, all the people in the video found themselves watching a super over of an Indian T20 League match. Later, a traffic policeman also arrives at the scene and questions Dhoni’s actions, to which he says that they are watching ‘ Super Over’ of an Indian T20 League match. The traffic policemen don’t really mind that lot and continue with his drive.
