On Wednesday, the Test ranking went through a ‘sea-saw’ moment between India and Australia as the former overtook the Kangaroos to become the number one Test team. But within a time of only 5.5 hours, Australia became the number one Test team again overtaking India.

This up and down didn’t go down well with a lot of cricket fans and they immediately took to Twitter to come up with some furious and interesting reactions as well. Subsequently, the fans also mocked the cricket’s governing body for this misfunctioning in the rankings.

Notably, the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy is very crucial to decide the finalist of the World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle; as India ought to win the series by an optimum margin of either 3-0, 3-1 or 4-0 to secure their berth in the final of the tournament.

Here’s a look at the remaining schedule of the India vs Australia Test series:

Second Test – Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi – Friday, 17th of February – 21st of February.

Third Test – Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore – Wednesday, 1st of March – 5th of March.

Fourth Test – Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad – Thursday, 9th of March – 13th of March.

Speaking from the perspective of the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team, they are going through a conundrum of middle-order batting as Shreyas Iyer is likely to make a comeback in the second Test. Whereas, on the other hand, the Test debutant Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t live up to the expectations in the Nagpur Test against the Aussies.

Apart from that, the veteran batters including the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli also failed to perform up to their statures in the Test series opener.
