The star India Mayank Agarwal fell ill just before boarding his flight to New Delhi on January 30. The incident raised alarm within the cricket fraternity as Agarwal filed a police report alleging foul smells in his drinks. The opening batter was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital in Agartala and is now reported to be in stable condition, no longer in a critical state.
In the meantime, the police official disclosed that Mayank Agarwal’s manager reported that the 32-year-old cricketer had consumed the pouch provided on the plane and is now suffering from throat infection and ulcers. The Karnataka-born cricketer was admitted to the ICU, but recent reports indicate that he is now in stable condition.
“His manager said that when he was sitting in the aeroplane, there was a pouch in front of him. He drank a little bit not much but suddenly there was irritation in his mouth and suddenly he couldn’t talk also and was brought to ILS hospital. He had swelling and ulcers in the mouth. Otherwise, his vitals are stable. After being assessed by the consultants of the hospital in an emergency, he was admitted. For now, he is clinically stable and is being constantly clinically monitored,” the police officer said.
