Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be in action on 3 May 2023 in the ongoing IPL against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). After a defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their last game at home ground, they will look to bounce back. But, LSG fans are still worried whether their skipper KL Rahul will participate or not after his injury last night.

During the RCB game, KL Rahul reportedly suffered a hip-flexor injury while fielding. As a result, he did not come out as an opener for the chase. Although he came out to bat at number 11, Rahul was not comfortable at all. Now, reports have circulated that the Indian Cricket Board have decided to manage his recovery.

KL Rahul is a part of Team India’s squad that will play Australia in the upcoming WTC final in England. The final will take place on 7 June 2023 at Oval. So, the Board might want him to get fully fit before that event. During the RCB game, in his absence, Krunal Pandya led the team. According to reports from Cricbuzz, Rahul is going to miss some matches for LSG. Hence, Pandya will lead the team as a stand-in skipper. After the RCB loss when Pandya was asked bout Rahul’s injury, he said: “It’s such a sad thing Rahul pulled his hip flexor. I am not aware how bad it is, the medical team will assess it”.

However, regarding LSG’s approach, the former Kiwi cricketer, Simon Doull was not happy. He said: “I am not sure if he or the team thought they could win the game when he came in at No.11. What I do believe is that the net run rate is still going to be crucial later on in the tournament. So if Amit Mishra could hit four or two fours, or if KL could have got one four, they all suddenly get 12 more runs than what they were on,”
